The midlands is often an overlooked place for ‘driving roads’. On the edge of the Peak District, North Wales and having a vast amount of countryside it can offer not only some spectacular views, but some hidden gems.

We’ve listed our favourite driving roads in the Midlands region down below.

Melton Mowbray to Market Harborough

The route from Melton Mowbray south to Market Harborough takes you through some of the best roads in the midlands. the 25 mile route rewards with spectacular views, both open and tight roads and the route can be enjoyed in both directions. The route will predominantly follow the B6047.

A6006, Coleorton to Melton Mowbray

From Coleorton (B5324) near Ashby De La zouch to Melton Mowbray on the A6006 has to be one of my all time favourite roads, especially on a quite sunday morning / evening.

Although this road can be extremely busy at times, if you catch it just right the lack of traffic makes it for an amazing A-Road. Fast, open, plenty of bends, and a few good places to get some food along the way is what for me makes it a very special road indeed.
